Location: Cherokee Marsh, north end of Sherman Ave., Madison

Lots of thistle and joe-pye and other blossoms, but surprisingly little butterfly activity — maybe it wasn’t sunny enough? The water snake was a fun find ? if you look closely, you can see an engorged mosquito on its head.
