The Swamp Spreadwing is longer than the Common and Sweetflag Spreadwings. It could easily be confused with the Elegant Spreadwing based upon size, the slender abdomen, and the whitening on segments 8–10, but the paraprocts are shorter than the cerci in the Swamp and distinctly longer in the Elegant Spreadwing. I only saw this species at only one site in Waupaca County in 2003, but saw this at two sites in Waushara County in 2004.
