Hagen’s Bluet

(Enallagma hageni)

The Hagen’s Bluet is very similar to the Marsh Bluet. It is nearly impossible to tell these two species apart with close-focusing binoculars, unless you see the wrench-like terminal appendage of the Marsh Bluet. You will need to examine this species in hand to determine that this species exists. Both species coexist at numerous sites throughout central Wisconsin.
