Location: Madison area. 15 mile diameter circle
11 counters, counting for 22 hours. 26 species is the lowest number in the 23 years of the count! Only 276 individuals, less 150 Cabbage Whites, is just 126 individuals that are not an introduced pest species! That is also the lowest number of individuals in at least 23 years. Factors might be last year's drought, this spring's cold weather and/or 2013 being the rainiest year on record (so far). Take your pick. Monarch's were lowest since the cold rainy year of 1993. Eyed Brown and Clouded Sulphurs were lowest in 23 years.
