Leaving the trail after running, I saw a swallowtail fly above me and disappear behind a huge mulch pile, below to a field of phlox. At first, I just assumed it must be an eastern tiger but I climbed the mulch pile to investigate and I am so glad I did. It was clear and easy to see that it was a Giant Swallowtail, landing from flower to flower. I wish I would have had my good camera. So large and beautiful!
