Location: Scuppernong Prairie SNA
I went to Scuppernong looking for Poweshieks, but saw no skipperlings of any kind, even after checking all the Black-eyed Susans. Of note, the Black Swallowtail oviposited on two different asparagus plants (not a typical food plant, but it does contain rutin - as rue does). BTW, recent heavy rains have rendered the rutted prairie east of the parking area much less pleasant for walking...)
