Location: Barrens between Millston and Black River Falls

We walked about 16 miles each. We saw Frosted Elfins in 16 units, including 13 where these were our first 2019 sightings. Two other units topped their highest previous 2019 Frosted Elfin count. We searched for Frosted Elfins in the Belle Mound area and near Bauer, Brockway, Castle Mound, Hunter Haven and Stanton Creek Roads. Phlox flowers were too far pre-peak for us to find Phlox Moths. We saw at least 103 unidentified duskywings and dark spreadwing skippers.
