30th Annual NABA Butterfly Count

Location: Within 15 mile diameter circle, centered near Centerville.
Trempealeau County

Counters were Karl & Dorothy Legler, Al Sheldon and Pat Schmid. We put in 7.3 hours of observation with binoculars. Hindered by more overcast skies than were forecast. We found 193 individuals of 31 species. Monarchs had the hightest density of the 30 years. There was quite a lot of milkweed on refuges. We found no Anglewings for the 1st time in 30 years.
