Butterfly sighting

Jun 20 2010

Sylvia Edlebeck

Location: Cherokee Marsh
Dane County

Butterflies everywhere. One of the copppers was so intent on nectaring that he provided a perfect photo op for at least half an hour, just a few feet from the path. The mourning cloak was very worn. Also saw many Virginia ctenucha, the moth with the iridescent blue wings, and lots of dragonflies and damselflies.
