Location: Buena Vista Grasslands
I came here late in the afternoon after the clouds broke enough to let in some sunshine. This was a scouting trip to see if the Regals had emerged yet. Craig Marks, an avid NABA counter/compiler from Louisiana is coming up next week to see some Wisconsin butterflies and I was hoping he would get a chance to see the Regals. This was only the second time that I've seen them and the first time I've gotten photos. The Nodding Thistles were about the only nectar source available, but there were just as many butterflies puddling along the roadway after yesterday's rain. I've never seen Cabbage Whites puddling before, so I managed to get this photo before they flew off.
