Location: Northern Kettle Moraine State Forest
Fond du Lac County
This was the 25th annual NABA Butterfly Count at Northern Kettle Moraine. 9 counters in 3 groups used close-focusing binoculars and cameras to observe for 11 party-hours. We found 668 butterflies of 32 species. The most abundant butterflies were Monarch and Common Wood Nymph. We had to stop about 2:30 pm because of the forecast for severe storms coming from the West. Thanks to counters Douglas Buege, Mike Reese, Pam Skaar, Karl and Dorothy Legler, Sylvia and Tom, Fred Dike and Dave Hogg.
