Location: Town of Wheaton, Chippewa River floodplain
Chippewa County
Early afternoon. Mostly sunny. Upper seventies, calm.
Most of the Giant Swallowtails were in fields but one was in the woods where there were few flowers. I saw two different pairs of swallowtails twirling about each other close enough to touch, but did not see either actually couple. They were relatively plentiful and after a while I stopped counting for fear of counting some twice.
