Butterfly sighting

Location: High Cliff State Park
Calumet County

A very good butterfly day while I was catching adult purple martins for banding. I witnessed an adult female bring a Buckeye to feed her nestlings. The nestling was only 4 days old, but it easily devoured it in about 5 seconds. That was hard to watch since I'm a butterfly enthusiast, but I'm a purple martin enthusiast as well. I also saw my first Aphrodite Fritillary in years, and I saw an American Snout for the second time in my life.
