Butterfly sighting

Aug 26 2012

Aaron Carlson

Location: Dunnville Barrens SNA
Dunn County

85F, partly cloudy, somewhat breezy. I thought we'd see a lot more today, the weather seemed good for butterflies, and the Liatris and goldenrods were abundantly in full bloom. I only saw the Leonard's Skipper when I went chasing after a skink, otherwise, I probably would not have seen it. Also saw a white Liatris aspera. I don't know how common the white ones are, but that's the first one I've ever seen.
