Very windy today with gusts at 20+ mph. Saw several butterflies and skippers that couldn't be identified because of the wind. Went looking for Bog Coppers and found 3. All had crossed a ditch out of the bog and were along the side of the road. Two were nectaring on Yarrow. They ignored me while I steadied the Yarrow with one hand and attempted to photograph with the other. I was lucky to get any usable photos. Photos 1133 and 1177 are of one individual; 1179, 1184 and 1185 are of another. |
