Sandy Stream Tiger Beetle

Cicindela macra macra

I finally was able to see 3-4 individuals of this species along the Eau Claire River. They were very fast moving and did not want to pose for photos, but I did get lucky!

Notes: Wisconsin River, rare, threatened with extirpation; river sandbars; June to August.
